Renewing DHSUD for Real Estate Broker

Renewal for the DHSUD (formerly HLURB) for real estate broker happens every year. It will expire at the end of December so renewing before the year ends is crucial. A late fee of Php200 is charged when you renew the next year.

Requirements for renewal:

1. Photocopy of cash bond (Php5,000). You can opt for the yearly renewal but the one-time fee is cost-effective in the long run, especially if you plan to sell projects directly from developers.

2. Photocopy of valid PRC real estate broker ID.

3. Photocopy of previous Certificate of Registration from DHSUD.

4. Payment fee of Php720.

5. Signed formed from DHSUD office.

The CoR will be ready within 1-3 weeks, depending on workload. The DHSUD office is now located at ADG IT Center in Mandaue, Cebu City.

Government takes next steps in fight against Philippine real estate scammers - DotProperty

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is taking active steps to weed out illegal practitioners in the real estate industry.

I think this is a must for the department to tackle on since some unscrupulous people are selling properties without the necessary licenses/papers.  This puts at a disadvantage real estate professionals who pay the right taxes/fees to practice the profession with utmost integrity. This also puts a risk to interested buyers of property if they are dealing with unlicensed individuals who may take their money and run away.
