2023 appears to be a banner year for Rhenz Abando. The rookie sensation out of Letran got picked by Anyang KGC to be their Asian import. The former NCAA MVP did not disappoint. He delivered big!
Aside from being the playoff champions against a very tough Seoul SK Knights, which reached seven games and an OT win, they also held the best record in the league and were the regular season champions.
A strong pocket tournament which invited the best teams from Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan was also won by Anyang KGC, ironically also at the expense of Seoul SK Knights.
And as a personal feather on the cap, the high flyer also won the KBL 2023 Slam Dunk competition by a good margin!
To do all this in just his rookie season is amazing! Be grounded but continue to aim high!
Continue to fly high "Air Abando" !
