LTO License Renewal for 10 Years

Steps in Renewing Your LTO Driver's License

1. Visit the LTO portal website

2. Once you have your account set up and verified, click on E-Learning then Driver's Renewal Course. Select CDE Online Validation Exam.

3. After passing the exam, have the certificate printed and attach it together with your medical exam. The medical exam at SM City Cebu will just take your height, weight, and biometrics and there will be no drug tests (which is odd). It costs a whooping Php600 pesos for this!

4. Submit your old driver's license, medical cert, CDE certificate of completion to your nearest LTO office.

5. Pay Php585 to renew your license.

6. They will take a new picture and verify all info provided. Biometrics will be taken.

7. Once done, the new license will be printed instantly. This is an improvement from my previous renewal where the ID was not printed clearly and took a couple of days to get back. The office did encounter connectivity and lag issues. You need to allocate at least half a day to have this completed, depending on number of applicants.

8.First thing that you notice on the new ID are the new codes. Gone are the 1 and 2, etc and are replaced by A, A1, B, B1, B2 etc.

9. You will have 10-year validity for the license provided that you don't have any violations.

10. Medical exam is needed on the 3rd and 6th year of your license.
